FOUNDATION STAGE 1 AND 2
3 years – 4 years
Our 3 to 4 years old program concentrates on building creative and artistic senses, early literacy skills, mathematical reasoning and scientific. Through participating in new hands-on activities that balance between physical and academic development and exploring different constructive learning centers daily, children learn new communicative, social and problem solving skills in our nurturing environment.
Social Skills
- ● Peer Interaction and Play
Engage in peer interaction and play, which helps develop important social skills. They learn to share toys, take turns, and cooperate with others, fostering friendships and social bonds with their peers.
● Expressing Emotions
Begin to understand and express their emotions more clearly at the early years center. Through guided activities and supportive interactions with teachers, they learn to identify and verbalize their feelings, as well as recognize and respond to the emotions of others, laying the foundation for empathy and emotional regulation.
● Following Social Norms and Rules
Learn to follow social norms and rules within the classroom setting. They develop an understanding of behavioral expectations, such as raising hands to speak, taking turns during activities, and respecting personal space, promoting a cooperative and harmonious learning environment.
● Dressing Independence
Begin to demonstrate increasing independence in dressing themselves. They learn to put on and take off simple clothing items like shirts, pants, and shoes, developing fine motor skills and a sense of autonomy.
● Toileting and Personal Hygiene
Start to master basic toileting and personal hygiene skills at the early years center. They learn to use the toilet independently, manage their clothing during bathroom breaks, and practice handwashing techniques, promoting cleanliness and self-care habits.
● Self-Feeding and Mealtime Skills
Develop self-feeding and mealtime skills as they learn to use utensils and feed themselves during meals and snacks at the early years center. With support and encouragement from teachers, they gain confidence in handling utensils, serving themselves food, and practicing table manners, fostering independence and social interaction during mealtime routines.
● Language Development
Continue to enhance their language skills through vocabulary expansion, sentence formation, and storytelling. They engage in conversations with peers and teachers, express ideas and preferences, and ask questions to satisfy their curiosity, laying the foundation for effective communication.
● Listening and Following Instructions
Develop listening skills and the ability to follow instructions during group activities and classroom routines. They learn to pay attention to verbal directions, comprehend simple commands, and respond appropriately, promoting active participation and cooperation in learning experiences.
● Nonverbal Communication
Begin to understand and use nonverbal communication cues such as gestures, facial expressions, and body language to convey messages and express emotions at the early years center. They learn to interpret nonverbal cues from others, recognize social cues, and adjust their communication style accordingly, enhancing their ability to interact effectively with peers and adults.
